KDD Student Travel Award
Student Travel Awards will be available for students attending KDD-2011. Awards will provide partial funding for travel and registration expenses.

Application process
To be eligible for the award, a student must be:
- An author (or a co-author) of an accepted paper or poster at KDD-2011, and
- A full-time student at the time of paper acceptance
The awards will be given in the following order and limited by available funds, to:
- Students who are sole authors of full papers
- Students who are sole authors of poster papers
- Students who are first authors of full papers
- Students who are first authors of poster papers
- Students who are co-authors, but not first authors of full papers
- Students who are co-authors, but not first authors of poster papers
- Completed Student Award Application Form
- Title page of their accepted KDD-2011 paper
- Title and abstract to describe your overall research (no more than 350 words)
- Proof of their full-time student status (e.g. proof of full-time registration status for current semester, or a copy of a valid student ID)

Mentoring process
All award recipients are invited to present at a special doctorate poster session about their overall research (this is independent to the presentations on their KDD papers or posters). Senior KDD researchers will be matched to the student to provide mentoring advice regarding students’ research during this doctorate event.
